Hello, everyone. I hope you are enjoying your summer vacation. This is Lenny reporting on Summer School Week 4.
We kept learning about different topics about Under the Sea in this fourth week. Each class has been reading the book for their level, working on their homework, doing under the sea-themed worksheets, and making unique under the sea crafts.
This week, I taught Pre3. The Best Book of Sharks is what we read. We read about sharks and learned what each part of their bodies does. We named the different types of sharks and learned about how they were born and how they learned to live on their own. Pre3 learned more about the parts of a shark’s body by putting them together to make a shark craft. We also worked on spelling and did a word search. Word searches were a lot of fun for Pre3s.
Of course, it’s much more fun to play outside. On Tuesday morning, we went to the park to play. On Wednesday, we were able to go to the Shiosai Museum. Even though the museum was small, it had a lot of remains of sea creatures from the past. We walked, so we could see the beach near the museum. Everyone was excited to play in the water and touch it, but the weather changed quickly. That afternoon, there was heavy rain and a strong wind, so we didn’t go into the water. While we were waiting for the rain to stop, my class ate shaved ice. Everyone had a great time playing in the water on Thursday, and on Friday, we went on a short trip to Sakurayama Park. It was too hot to play, but everyone was active and had fun.
We did a lot of work and had a lot of fun. I liked teaching this class again. Pre3 had fun and learned a lot. By the end of the week, everybody knew which shark they liked best.
That’s all for Summer School Week 4. Thank you. Keep yourself safe and enjoy the rest of your summer vacation.
