2023 Thinking Day 活動報告(2)
＜Thinking Dayとは？＞
毎年1月31日は、コスモスで設定した特別な日「Thinking Day」です。
この日は、自分自身のことだけではなく、改めて自分の周りに目を向けて、他の人のことを考えてみる日です。
今年のテーマは、フランスです。
この特別な Thinking Day を実施した講師たちの中から3名にレポートを書いてもらいましたので、そのレポートをここで紹介したいと思います。
2人目、鎌倉校でPRE代理講師/AS専任講師をしている Ms.Lenny!!
Bonjour! Cosmos 2023 Thinking day was focused on the historically rich and beautiful country of France. This year, thinking day was inspired by Ms. Chloe, one of our teachers here at Cosmos.
To start off the day, Ms. Chloe introduced the famous and popular things of France. The students really enjoyed learning about how snails (escargot) are a delicacy around the world, and how France has many amazing monuments. We also learned about the geography and how it’s in the continent of Europe. Ms. Chloe even told us that she used to live in Paris near the Eiffel Tower!
She also mentioned how Paris is the fashion capital of the world, and that the tilted hat a mime wears is called a beret. After learning about the delicious foods of France, Ms. Chloe explained the rules of a game called Boules. Boules is a ball rolling game where you have to roll the ball closest to a certain object. Everyone learned some cool and interesting things from Ms. Chloe’s France presentation.
After the presentation, the teachers were divided into different stations.
Mr. Sergio’s station covered the culture and facts of France.
Ms. Lenny’s station was about the famous Eiffel Tower.
Ms. Monica’s station focused on the beautiful art of stained glass windows.
Ms. Chloe’s station was all about tasty Crêpes.
For my station, we learned all about French puppet! French puppets have been popular in France for a very long time. The most common and well known puppet in France is known by the name of Guignol. Guignol is a character who represents the working class and uses comedy to entertain the audience. Ms. Chloe shared how she used to watch her favorite puppets shows on her television everyday after the evening news. She said her childhood memories are filled with these great puppet characters.
The station came to an end with all the students making their own French puppet! Students had to use craft materials like cloth, toilet paper tubes, a stick skewer with a styrofoam ball, and markers to make a hand puppet.
It was so great to see all the students happy to learn about the wonderful country of France.
Bonjour! コスモス2023のシンキングデイは、歴史的に豊かで美しい国、フランスに焦点を当てました。 今年のシンキングデイは、コスモスの先生の一人であるクロエ先生からインスピレーションを受けました。
まず、クロエ先生がフランスの有名なもの、人気のあるものを紹介してくれました。 カタツムリ（エスカルゴ）が世界的に有名であることや、フランスには素晴らしいモニュメントがたくさんあることなど、生徒たちはとても楽しく学びました。 また、フランスがヨーロッパ大陸にあること、地理的なことも学びました。 クロエ先生は、以前パリのエッフェル塔の近くに住んでいたこともあるそうです！
また、パリはファッションの街であること、パントマイマーがかぶる傾いた帽子はベレー帽と呼ばれることなども教えてくれました。
フランスのおいしい食べ物を教えてもらった後、クロエ先生は「ブール」というゲームのルールを説明してくれました。 ブールはボールを転がすゲームで、ある物に一番近いボールを転がすというものです。 クロエ先生のフランス紹介で、みんな興味深く、かっこいいことを学びました。
プレゼンテーションの後、先生方はそれぞれのステーションに分かれました。
セルジオ先生のステーションでは、フランスの文化や事実について学びました。
レニー先生のステーションは、有名なエッフェル塔についてでした。
モニカ先生のステーションは、ステンドグラスの美しさについて。
クロエさんのステーションは、おいしいクレープについてでした。
私のステーションでは、フランスの人形劇について学びました。 フランス人形はフランスでとても長い間親しまれてきました。 フランスで最も一般的でよく知られている人形は、ギニョールという名前で知られています。 ギニョールとは、労働者階級の代表的なキャラクターで、観客を楽しませるために喜劇を使います。 クロエ先生は、毎日夕方のニュースの後、テレビで大好きな人形劇を見ていたという。 幼い頃の思い出の中には、このような素晴らしいパペットキャラクターがたくさん詰まっているそうです。
最後に、生徒たちは自分たちのフランス人形を作りました。 布、トイレットペーパーチューブ、発泡スチロールのボールと棒状の串、マーカーなどの工作材料を使い、手のひら人形を作りました。
フランスという国の素晴らしさを知って喜んでいる生徒の姿を見ることができ、とても嬉しかったです。
