Hello Everyone, I’m Simmy. Reporting for Summer School Week 5, We discovered the wonders of the Earth!
For this week, we learned about the Earth and its landforms like: Volcanoes, Hills, Islands, Canyon, Dessert, River, Ocean, Jungle, Mountains, Plains, Waterfalls. Each Class has their own books and activities according to their level. I’m still assigned with Headstarts and the activities and learning are basics.
For Headstarts, we focused on Volcanoes and Mountains. We printed out colouring materials that are appropriate for the children and had them colour it freely. We also made some crafts, such as Mountains that are made out of soft- clay and had them painted brown and placed with some stones. Learned about the animals that live in the Mountain, Animals that live in the water, land, or air. This time, since the children understood more, I challenged them to tell me where a certain animal lives. The children were able to respond appropriately. And, after that we also learned about the things you can and cannot do in the Mountain. The children were so lucky to be allowed to watch some short clips of camping, and we also took the advantage of learning about Dinosaurs.
We also made some crafts of dinosaurs in egg, painted a wooden dinosaur and also made a fossil. The children were so happy to choose which dinosaur to colour and take home. Everyone enjoyed it. We also got the chance to watch a short clip of dinosaurs.
And lastly, since it’s Summer School, it wouldn’t be complete if we don’t go on a field trip. for this last week we went to Yokosuka Museum of Nature and Humanities wherein the children were able to see different kinds of fossil and bones and we’re able to explore all about nature.
We would like to thank you all for your unwavering support and cooperation. Thank you for making Week 5 possible, fun and filled with joyful memories. We really appreciate it. Until the next Summer School!
